Donna Mumford is Assistant Vice Chancellor, Campus Development, at UC Irvine. In her current role, Ms. Mumford provides leadership and direction for all fundraising goals, programs and personnel for Schools and Units on UC Irvine campus as well as manages a portfolio of principal gift prospects. She is responsible to manage, motivate, direct and evaluate fundraising staff of 10 Schools as well as foundation relations, corporate philanthropy and corporate relations in addition to developing and maintaining strong relationships with all deans and other campus academic leadership in order to fully integrate campus leaders into advancement efforts. Ms. Mumford is integrally involved in strategizing and implementing $1 billion campaign, and manages fundraising efforts and progress, supervises the identification and cultivation of appropriate prospects at the special, major, and principal gift levels, and prepares and reviews solicitation strategies for major and principal gift prospects, regularly reviewing progress of each strategy. She also oversees the preparation of written proposals and other informational materials to secure major and principal gifts, including proposals to corporations and foundations.
Prior to her current position, Ms. Mumford was Assistant Dean, External Relations, for the Paul Merage School of Business at UC Irvine.
Before joining UC Irvine, Ms. Mumford was the Vice President of Development and Gift Planning for the Orange County Community Foundation. Prior to that, she was Assistant Vice President for Development at the Orange County Performing Arts Center. In addition, she spent nearly five years as Director of Gift Planning for Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, California.
Ms. Mumford is a graduate of California State University at Fullerton, with a B.A. in Communications/News Editorial emphasis. She also holds a Master’s Degree in English from Claremont Graduate University. She received her designation as a Certified Specialist in Planned Giving from the American Institute for Philanthropic Studies in 1995, is a Past-President of the Orange County Planned Giving Round Table, and was chair of the 2000 Western Regional Planned Giving Conference.
