Presidents Letter 2022

Dear WISE Members, Sponsors and Friends: Happy Holidays to all!! 2022 was a banner year in our history. WISE held a record number of educational workshops, expanded our reach locally and across the nation, increased membership to our boards, and celebrated our 25th Anniversary with old and new friends!

Our History

25 Years of Women Investing in Security & Education (WISE)

In 1997 a small but powerful group of women met in Orange County to organize an investment conference for women. When over 500 registered, they knew they were onto something. Fast forward 25 years, much has changed but one thing has not: We are still faithful to our mission of financial empowerment for females of all ages and all socioeconomic backgrounds.

Through our partnerships with community organizations such as Girl Scouts and Girls Inc, and universities including UCI, UCLA and Chapman, we fulfill our mission by hosting workshops on budgeting, credit and investing. Our goal is to provide financial tools that last a lifetime.

Our Secret Sauce

Each year we organize and participate in 15-20 workshops, involving over 80 volunteers. How do we do this with only part-time help? Our Board donates over 2500 volunteer hours to get this done. That’s worth over $250,000 in staff time!! They are our secret sauce. We reach 1000s each year with our message and we are not stopping here. Our plan is to take our successful business model and expand our footprint nationally.

As proud as we are of our past, we are more excited about our future! We hope that all of you will join us by making donations to keep WISE viable.

Join in our Mission:

In 2023, we will ask all our members to become sustaining members by contributing to WISE as they are able. This will help us continue with our programming and important work. However, we will continue to offer our invaluable finance empowerment information free of charge.

We wish all our members, supporters and community partners a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

Warm Regards,

Angela and Darlene
