Joyce M. Averna

Joyce Averna is an accomplished financial services professional with over 25 years experience in wealth advisory and institutional investment management. As a Principal with Payden & Rygel, a $100 billion global asset management firm headquartered in Los Angeles, Joyce partnered with her clients to provide customized investment advice.

Prior to her time at Payden & Rygel, Joyce rose to the rank of Vice President with Smith Barney in New York, where she served in their Fixed Income Trading and Investment Banking divisions. Most recently Joyce was Co-CEO and Chief Operating Officer of JoyTrí Productions, an independent film production company, where she produced the award-winning film Silver Skies, starring George Hamilton and Valerie Perrine. The film now streams on Netflix and Amazon.

Joyce holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from St. John’s University in New York, and a Master’s Degree in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica.

An advocate for young women, Joyce is a member of the Geena Davis Institute on Gender in Media, and a long-time supporter of St. Anne’s, a non-profit dedicated to helping at-risk young women. She serves on the Advisory Committee of the San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission, which provides a safe-haven for homeless families. Joyce also provides education and life skills to women currently incarcerated through her volunteer work with The Freedom to Choose Project.
