Joyce Averna is an Executive Director with J.P. Morgan’s Private Bank in Orange County, California. In her role, Joyce provides tailored solutions to address the totality of her clients' financial lives, helping them achieve the dreams they have for their family, their business, and their future legacy. Together with the J.P. Morgan team, she delivers the firm’s comprehensive platform of investment management, trust & estate planning, banking, lending, and philanthropic services. She also leads the Orange County team's Non-profit practice, utilizing the firm's deep global resources in support of their mission.
Joyce’s financial markets and investment management experience spans over 25 years. Prior to joining J.P. Morgan, Joyce was a Principal & Senior Portfolio Manager with Payden & Rygel in Los Angeles, a $150 billion global investment management firm where she was responsible for managing portfolio strategy and relationships for some of the firm’s largest private and institutional clients. The early part of her career was in New York, in Fixed Income Strategy & Trading for Salomon Smith Barney and its predecessor firms.
Joyce is active in the community. An advocate for young women, she serves on the board of WISE, a non-profit dedicated to advancing the financial education of girls and women; acts as a mentor for The Freedom to Choose Project, which promotes education for a second chance. Joyce serves on the board of Saddleback Medical Center Foundation, and is an active member of Octane OC, 44 Women for Orangewood, and Women of Chapman.
Joyce holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from St. John’s University in New York, and a Master’s Degree from the University of Santa Monica. She holds Series 7, 63 and 65 licenses.
