Board Member

Kathy Tam is a passionate brand strategist and lifelong champion of meaningful connection, with more than 30 years of experience in marketing, brand development, communications, and public relations. Throughout her career, Kathy has combined creativity, strategy, and heart to build authentic brands, inspire teams, and move missions forward with purpose.

In her current role as Corporate Client Engagement and Marketing Liaison at the UC Irvine Division of Continuing Education, Kathy serves as a bridge between the University and the business community—curating impactful events and lifelong learning experiences that help individuals and organizations grow. Since 2005, she has held several roles at UCI, where she helped elevate the continuing education brand and supported the launched UCI’s Open Education initiative, positioning the University as a leader in accessible, global learning.

Before joining UC Irvine, Kathy led award-winning campaigns at top agencies, representing brands such as Toyota, Edwards Lifesciences, Bosch, Round Table Pizza, and the National Association of Realtors. No matter the client or cause, her work has always centered around one core belief: when people feel seen, supported, and empowered, great things happen.

Kathy holds a bachelor’s degree in Communications from California State University, Fullerton, and an MBA from Pepperdine University’s Graziadio School of Business.
