Rod Griffin

Sr. Director of Consumer Education and Advocacy


Rod Griffin is Senior Director of Consumer Education and Advocacy for Experian. He is responsible for Experian’s national consumer education programs and outreach. Rod serves as an expert spokesperson on consumer issues, particularly credit reporting, credit scoring and identity theft, and is frequently quoted by national television, print, radio and online media. For more than two decades he and his team have published Ask Experian, the industry’s first online consumer credit advice column. Rod currently represents Experian on the Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy Board of Trustees and previously served on the LifeSmarts Corporate Advisory Board, which he chaired in 2016. In addition, he was named 2016 Educator of the Year by the Institute for Financial Literacy. He is a co-author of “Credit Repair Kit for Dummies – 5th edition” from Wylie Publishing. Rod holds a B.S. in journalism from the University of Kansas and has a Fair Credit Reporting Act certification from the Consumer Data Industry Association
