Sonja Strzoda, CFP®

Board Member

Sonja Strzoda is an inspirational investment management executive who has consistently advanced financial service organizations. Sonja brings broad proficiency in capital markets as well as in the marketing and distribution of both traditional and alternative investments. She possesses strong relationship management and strategic growth expertise, and has worked across market channels including institutional investors, intermediaries and retail organizations with large global networks.
Most recently, Sonja was a Director with ColumbiaThreadneedle Investments, a global asset management firm, and a subsidiary of Ameriprise Financial (AMP). She was hand-selected by senior management to facilitate the re-engineering of the global consultant relations effort to broaden product recognition, capture market opportunities and deepen key associations. Before this, Sonja was a Senior Vice President, Consultant Relations for Putnam Investments, a global asset management firm. She served as part of the global consulting relations team co-heading the North American business where she re-established the Putnam brand in the institutional marketplace. Previously, Sonja was Vice President, Consultant Relations and Sales at Robeco Investment Management, a multi-product international asset manager. Earlier, Sonja was Principal, Director of Client Services at Bradford & Marzec, Inc., a privately held institutional fixed income manager where she established the client service function and architected its infrastructure. In Sonja’s early career, she was a Marketing Associate for Pacific Investment Management Company (PIMCO) and an Account Executive for Dean Witter Reynolds (Morgan Stanley Investment Management).
Sonja has been a member of the State Association of County Retirement Systems (SACRS) for over twenty years. She served as Affiliate Committee Vice-Chair and Program Committee Member developing expertise and advocating improvements in the operation of county retirement systems throughout California. Sonja also served on the Supervisory Committee of Kinecta Federal Credit Union, one of the nation's leading Credit Unions. Currently, she sits on the Board of Directors for Working Wardrobes serving as a member of the Governance and Audit Committees, and asked to serve as contingent CEO. She is also an active Board Member for WISE-Women Investing in Security and Education.
Sonja received her MBA with an emphasis in finance from California State University, Long Beach, where she was the first woman portfolio manager to be invited to participate on the University’s Student Managed Investment Fund. She earned her BS with a major in economics from University of California, Irvine. Sonja holds FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses, and is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional.
